LEC CAMPS

We have been offering a wide variety of horsemanship camps for more than 10 years. The Louisville Equestrian Center camp program combines qualified staff, experienced horses and excellent facilities to create an atmosphere where campers can advance their horseback riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge and enjoy riding with friends. All levels of experience are welcome. Our camps are open to children 4 – 17 years of age. All campers participate in arts and crafts, barn games and other activities centered around the equestrian theme such as horse painting, pin the tail on the horse and scavenger hunts.

Programs incorporate riding along with other enjoyable activities. Campers learn all aspects of horsemanship and horse care including how to groom and tack-up their horse, what to feed their horse and when to call the vet and farrier.

While in the saddle we focus on the fundamentals, mixing in a variety of fun activities and exercises designed to improve the camper’s balance and control. Exercises might include navigating through a simple obstacle course or around a series of cones and playing games such as “simon says”.
